This Saturday and Sunday, Designmuseum Denmark opens its doors to a major market in its gardens, which focuses on Sustainability and Design.

As part of the market, KEA’s Material Design Lab will move all of their activities into the museum, highlighting how KEA works with Sustainability. During the two days, students from KEA will demonstrate how materials and processes are applied in new products in a sustainable way:

Machines for re-use and production of plastic products will be built; you can learn how to use leftovers from your kitchen to colour fabrics, you can watch fungus spores being printed in 3D and not least, follow the process of apple pulp being processed from leftovers to apple juice to new, usable materials.

The Design X Change Market also gives you the opportunity to exchange used clothes, getting your broken things fixed or seeing for yourself how artists and companies work with reusable materials.

Bring the things you need to fix – e.g. clothes and electronics or join Vera’s Market and swap your used clothes with others. You can also learn how to build your own loudspeakers from used electrical parts.

As a childfriendly event, kids can participate in creative workshops or bring their broken toys and get it fixed or rebuilt into something entirely new.
