Marta Dolska is a Sustainable Fashion alumni from KEA, and she has just joined the semifinals at the EcoChic Design Award 2017. You can vote for her beautiful up-cycling designs right now.

Marta is among the 24 semi-finalists at the global competition where contestants from an impressive 46 countries including Japan, Israel, China and USA have submitted their designs.

Two panels of local judges have evaluated all of the applications from around the world, choosing 24 contestants who now have to convince the judges that they should be among the 10 contestants who makes it to the finals during Hong Kong Fashion Week this September.

For her EcoChic Design Award application, Marta applies the up-cycling and reconstruction techniques to secondhand textiles and men’s shirts. She plays with the masculine and feminine forms, and is inspired by Asian and ephemeral aesthetics and the organic forms of primroses which exude romanticism and accidental perfectionism.

”Through my work I want to change people’s thinking and habits towards consumption, to improve people’s relationships with their products, thus lowering consumerism and minimising waste," says Marta Dolska.

From now until May 22nd, you can vote for Marta Dolska for the People’s Choice award, which will be announced on May 25th along with the announcement of the ten finalists for the EcoChic Design Award 2017.
