KEA helps companies investigate their challenges and the areas where they want to develop knowledge.
Our mission
It can be anything from the application of artificial intelligence to sustainable construction to wearable technology. As long as a project involves technology, sustainability, and business, it interests us.
We collaborate with researchers, companies, and organizations – both in Denmark and internationally.
The goal is always to explore a field, locate useful existing knowledge, and find new and relevant applications for it.
Research Integrity at KEA
We believe that education with a close connection to the business world creates academically strong students who understand the opportunities and challenges of the industry from their very first day on the job market. Therefore, we see it as our highest priority to ensure that our programs are up to date with the latest knowledge and the current issues businesses face today and in the future.
At KEA, we conduct research within our five academic areas – design, IT, construction, technical, and business fields. Through our research, we aim to ensure that teaching remains relevant and stimulating for both the individual student and society as a whole. Our goal is to produce research-based, reliable, and relevant knowledge so that businesses can make knowledge-driven decisions and actions in the near future, particularly in the areas of sustainability, technology, and business.
This means that research at KEA is conducted based on three fundamental principles: honesty, transparency, and responsibility, which are also the guiding principles of the national code of conduct for research integrity.
The three general principles are the cornerstones of our research work.
Honesty
For us, this means reliability in data collection and analysis, integrity in the communication of results, and transparency in research decisions and methods.
Transparency
We are committed to being transparent about the research process and the scope of our conclusions, as well as making our results easily accessible and relevant to industries and businesses.
Responsibility
We take responsibility for the relationships we engage in and the research we conduct. We strive to be a reliable partner and create value for the business sector we educate for.
To uphold these principles, we have established four practical standards for research integrity that our research activities follow. These four standards include careful planning of the research process, responsible data storage, establishing clear agreements with partners in industry and other organizations, and honest, accessible, and accurate communication of research results.
We encourage our partners to adhere to these principles and contribute to fostering a research culture that is both empowered by our action and carried out with integrity.
