Academy profession degree

Our academy profession degree programmes are all tailored for the world of business and industry. They are thus developed in close cooperation with companies and businesses.

An academy profession degree programme is a higher education programme which lasts two years, spans four semesters and adds up to 120 ECTS points.

The AP degree in Computer Science, however, lasts two and a half years and yields a total of 150 ECTS points.

Automation Engineering

Automation Engineering at KEA trains students to program machines and automated systems for industries such as pharmaceuticals and food production. Over two years (120 ECTS), students develop skills in programming various systems, including robots, production lines, and industrial machinery.

The curriculum covers programming languages like PLC Ladder and Python, process regulation, and robot technology. Additionally, students gain project management and business acumen to manage automation projects effectively.

Practical experience is emphasized through a 10-week internship and a final project with a company, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the automation industry.

Computer Science

Computer Science is a 2.5-year vocational programme that equips students with essential skills in programming, system development, and the application of IT within organizational and societal contexts. Offering 150 ECTS points, it emphasizes collaborative design and development of applications, underscoring the importance of communication and human interaction in software.

Key areas include:

Programming: Fundamentals in problem-solving through programming, with a focus on languages like Java and JavaScript, plus elective options for further specialization.
System Development: Techniques for designing robust software, utilizing iterative methods such as Scrum.
Business and Organization: Insights into how IT systems are integrated within organisational structures.
Technology: Understanding of computer hardware and cloud technologies to support development and programming.

Students from Computer Science are versatile IT professionals adept at navigating the intersection of technology, organization, and society.

Exchange possibilities

Construction Coordinator

Construction Coordinator at KEA equips students with the skills to manage and optimize construction processes, acting as a link between project managers and construction teams. Over two years (120 ECTS), students learn to analyze, plan, and coordinate building projects while ensuring collaboration between various trades.

Key areas of study include project planning, management tools, resource allocation, tender analysis, and construction law.

Students also gain knowledge in business operations and communication tailored to the construction industry. A 10-week internship and a final project allow students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios.

Construction Technology

Construction Technology at KEA provides students with the skills to manage technical and administrative tasks in construction projects. Over two years (120 ECTS), students learn about production methods, project planning, industrial construction techniques, and communication within the construction industry.

The curriculum covers residential building up to 2½ stories, commercial construction, and prefabrication processes. Students gain hands-on experience through digital tools, quality assurance, legal knowledge, and stakeholder communication.

A 10-week internship and a final project allow students to apply their skills in real-world settings, preparing them for roles in construction management and coordination.

Design, Technology and Business

Design, Technology and Business at KEA equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in fashion, lifestyle, marketing, and communication. Through core subjects like design, business, and technology, students gain practical tools to tackle industry challenges.

The programme offers three specializations: Sustainable Fashion Tech, Fashion Management, and Marketing & Communication Design, where students deepen their expertise through hands-on projects and collaborations with companies.

Throughout the two-year course, students develop skills in areas such as trend analysis, design thinking, Adobe software, and business identity, culminating in a 10-week internship and a final project aligned with industry needs.

Electrical Service Engineering

Electrical Service Engineering at KEA equips students with the skills needed to become electrical engineers, project managers, or independent contractors in the electrical and technical fields. Over two years (120 ECTS), students learn to design and manage electrical installations in residential and industrial settings, ensuring safety and energy efficiency.

Key areas of study include electrical systems, project management, business operations, and technical documentation.

The programme also prepares students for the national electrician authorization exam. A 10-week internship and a final project allow students to gain practical experience and specialize in their desired area within the industry.

Energy Technology

Energy Technology at KEA trains students to become technical advisors specializing in energy optimization and sustainable solutions for buildings and industrial systems. Over two years (120 ECTS), students learn to assess, design, and advise on energy-efficient measures, renewable energy sources, and indoor climate improvements.

The curriculum covers areas like energy physics, building construction, energy systems, process optimization, and project management.

Students gain hands-on experience through real-world projects, a 10-week internship, and a final project, preparing them to contribute to the green transition and help meet sustainability goals in both residential and industrial sectors.

Entrepreneurship & Design

Entrepreneurship and Design at KEA equips students with the skills to create innovative, design-driven business solutions. Over two years (120 ECTS), students learn through hands-on collaboration with companies, focusing on design processes, business models, and cultural trends.

The curriculum covers product development, business economics, marketing, leadership, and communication. In the third semester, students choose electives or study abroad, while the fourth semester involves a practical internship where they apply their skills in real-world settings.

This programme prepares students for careers as entrepreneurs or in-house designers in the lifestyle and design sectors.

IT Technology

IT Technology at KEA provides students with comprehensive skills in networking, embedded systems, IoT, and programming. Over two years (120 ECTS), students learn to design and build networks with routers, switches, firewalls, and servers, as well as develop and program microprocessor systems for IoT applications.

Key areas of study include IT security, cloud services, electronics design, and project management.

Students gain hands-on experience through prototype development and real-world projects. In the final semester, a 10-week internship and a final project allow students to apply their knowledge in collaboration with industry partners.

Multimedia Design

Multimedia Design at KEA focuses on equipping students with skills in digital design, frontend programming, UX, content production, technology, and business. Over two years (120 ECTS), students learn to create user-centered web solutions, design digital interfaces, and manage content for social media and other platforms.

The curriculum is project-based and closely linked with industry, offering practical collaboration opportunities with companies. A 10-week internship in the final semester provides real-world experience.

Students develop solutions across various digital media, preparing them for careers in design, development, and digital business.

Production Technology

Production Technology at KEA equips students with skills in product development, design, and manufacturing, with a focus on sustainable solutions. Over two years (120 ECTS), students learn key aspects of systematic product development, material selection, strength calculations, 3D modeling, and production planning.

The program combines theory and practice, emphasizing collaboration with industry from the first semester. Through cross-disciplinary project work and a 10-week internship, students apply their knowledge to real-world product development and production optimization challenges, preparing them for roles in manufacturing, design, and production management.

Service Engineering (Plumbing Technology)

Service Engineering at KEA is a two-year course (120 ECTS) that prepares students to become leaders, advisors, or independent contractors in the plumbing and technical sectors. Students gain expertise in sanitary systems, heating, gas, indoor climate technology, automation, and controls.

The curriculum includes both technical elements, such as project management, technical documentation, and installation design, as well as business management skills like leadership, organization, and quality control.

Practical experience is gained through a 10-week internship, and the program culminates in a final project focused on plumbing system design or specialization in a chosen area.

Surveying & Mapping

Surveying and Mapping at KEA is a two-year course (120 ECTS) focused on teaching students to handle geographical data for surveying and mapping projects. Students learn core technical skills such as surveying, parceling, setting out, and processing geographical data using tools like GIS and geodatabases.

The program covers project management, legal frameworks, and quality assurance. With specializations in either Land Surveying or Mapping, students gain practical experience through a 10-week internship in a relevant company.

The program culminates in a final project addressing real-world issues within the surveying and mapping industry.
