Win-Win… and Win.
Congratulations to Tanja and InWear - Winners of KEA Internship of the Year 2020
That’s a suitable way of describing the situation of this year's winners of the KEA Internship of the Year award.
Tanja Thybo Heier dared to ask the difficult questions, come up with new inputs and challenge her internship company. InWear put a lot of energy into working with Tanja, listening and giving her a responsibility that resulted in optimisations that increased the efficiency of their procedures. They were so impressed with Tanja's work that they offered her a job - and she's looking forward to coming back to the company:
"They have helped and developed me at the same time that they have pushed me just enough to learn a lot. In addition, they have simply embraced me and treated me much better than expected, and I could in no way have asked for a better host company."
Tanja studies Fashion Management at KEA Design, and is now also a permanent employee as Junior Buyer in Inwear.
THE JURY WAS IMPRESSED BY BOTH TANJA AND INWEAR
"Both the company and the student have been very dedicated about the internship. Tanja has been willing to learn, while daring to ask questions and provide new input. She succeeded in making a real change for the better, an appropriate disruption that makes a real difference. She focuses on her professionalism and so does the company, and that leads to development."
Therefore, Tanja and Inwear are elected winners of KEA Internship of the Year 2020.
Close race
All students at KEA must complete a full-time internship at least once during their studies. Internship is an essential part of the programmes at KEA, because this is where students bridge the gap between their studies at KEA and their future career in the business.
It is also – as the above story is a very good example of – a good opportunity for companies to bring new knowledge into their business through the students, as well as an obvious opportunity to recruit new talented employees.
The jury consists of:
- Hans Henrik Ter-Borch – senior project manager at Rockwool
- Lars Kruse, entrepreneur, rainmaker and business developer at Prolike
- Asger Halberg Hansen, internship coordinator at KEA
CORONA CANCELs THE NATIONAL COMPETITION BUSINESS INTERNSHIP OF THE YEAR
Under normal circumstances, Tanja and Inwear would have moved on to the national competition Business Internship of the Year, but unfortunately it has been cancelled this year due to Corona.
